Q: How many RJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Four whole faculties. One faculty to design the new bulb, one faculty to test it out, one faculty to market it and one guy to write a stupid e-mail about lightbulbs.

Q: How many HCJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: The whole school, to compete with RJC.

Q: How many VJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: The whole school, one to screw it in and the rest to cheer and wave flags and banners to give him/her support.

Q: How many NJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. No light still can study.

Q: How many AJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. They're too busy trying to be one of the top 5 JCs.

Q: How many ACJC students does it take to change lightbulb?
A: None. They use all their money to employ YJC to do it for them.

Q: How many YJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Only one teacher to tell them what a lightbulb is in the first place and to demonstrate. (how do you think they're able to change it for ACJC?)

Q: How many CJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: They'd prefer it darker. (hmmm... *raise eyebrow*)

Q: How many JJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Their physics is so bad that they make the male teacher cry.

Q: How many TPJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. Would they bother?

Q: How many MJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. They're too busy studying, trying not to get expelled.

Q: How many SAJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. They believe in praying for it.

Q: How many NYJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: None. They are still using oil lamps.

Q: How many SRJC students does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Huh, wat litebarb?

Q: Don't you guys wonder who wrote this?
A: MI!

Q: How many MI students does it take to change the lightbulb?
A: None. They think they are very bright already.

Most of us have heard of this joke, but haven't heard of the MJC one since it's a new college. Well, it's been updated (not by us), and how apt it is...

Just some food for thought...

VJC had 11 retainees last year, which to them is considered a lot. What then is the close to 100 that MJC has been having since its first intake of students two years ago?

In response to our entry posted on Monday 10 January 2005, "Austin Powers" suggested that if we want to rebel, don't just wear any other MJC T-shirts, wear other schools' T-shirts. "If you want to play punk, play totally, don't play half-half."

We'd like to reassure MJC that we're not punks, we're not rebels, we're not radicals. We're rational people. Whatever we do, we do with reason. What's unreasonable about wearing any MJC T-shirt for PE in MJC? If that's unreasonable, isn't what "Austin Powers" suggested, wearing other schools' T-shirts in MJC, even more unreasonable?
Now, who's the punk? Who's the rebellious one? Who's the one embarrassing MJC on the World Wide Web?

Rebelling is an inefficient and ineffective way of getting things done. We, the SPCS (MJC), place great emphasis on efficiency and results, that's why we take time and effort to reflect and plan our actions (and still spend time helping the tsunami victims, we don't neglect priorities), actions that will produce results. The project, MJC 2004 - Reflections, is evidence of this. Anyone can rebel, it's spontaneous and requires no planning. But we have never thought of rebelling, because it will not bear fruit and will be a waste of our time (then we might as well spend more time helping the tsunami victims).

So, we, the SPCS (MJC), are rational people. If there are any riots or rebellions in MJC, we're not responsible. But we should know who is...

We went to the Mercy Relief centre at Lowland Road to help pack food for the tsunami victims today, from 2 PM to 6 PM. We were basically operating as "human conveyor belts", carrying boxes through a series of stations to be filled with foodstuff.

Where in the world was "Austin Powers"? All you know is to criticise us for not helping the tsunami victims, but what about you? Which charity organisation are you helping? None, right? You're probably too busy mugging at home to be concerned with what's going on in this world. You're just plain selfish, and still had the cheek to criticise us...

This blog is not created for us, it's not about us; It's for the MJC student body.

During PE today, quite a few of our classmates were told off by a teacher for wearing unaccepted attire. They were mostly wearing MJC's House and CCA attire.

Why can't we wear these?
"We have CCA immediately after PE. This way, we don't have to change into another attire after PE, we also don't have to bring home two sets of sweaty attire."
"Also, there's 'Meridian Junior College' printed on House and CCA attire, so it should be accepted."
Teacher: "Are these reasons?"

What the... If these aren't reasons, then I bet you can't come up with any reasons either. You're just being unreasonable. But too bad, this isn't the Army, there isn't a "no questions asked" policy. You'll have to justify your stand, otherwise most students will just continue wearing any MJC T-shirt.

Also, the new PE attire with the new college logo is now available. They'd better not make it compulsory for us to buy the new attire, unless they refund us on our current attire which we've only used for less than a year. Each T-shirt costs $13 and most of us have 2 (that adds up to $26), and it doesn't even last a year. It isn't our fault that the college didn't design a good logo and has to change it, we shouldn't be obliged to pay for it...

We got our new timetables for this year today. There have been drastic changes to the timetables, but it has only improved slightly. We get shorter school hours, but compared with other JCs, it's still not good enough. For example, Anderson JC students taking 4 "A" level subjects are dismissed before 3 PM while MJC students taking 3 "A" level subjects are dismissed slightly after 3 PM. Still, it is a step in the right direction. Compared to last year's timetables, it's a big improvement.

Hopefully, after some time but not too long, our timetables would be improved further.
