Saturday, March 19, 2005 The March school vacations are coming to an end. The block tests are starting next week, Tuesday for those not re-sitting for Mother Tongue, which applies to most of the cohort. Here's a trend we've observed over the past year: The three members of the SPCS have three different mugging patterns. -One always mugs 24/7, regardless of whether there are tests coming up. Will definitely always do exceptionally well. -One always wants to mug but can't seem to find enough time to mug. Eventually manages to find the time just before the tests. Will do reasonably well. -One always doesn't know when to start mugging until it's too late, ends up doing last minute cramming. Often miraculously manages to scrape through tests, albeit barely. From the above, able to guess who's the one posting this entry right now? leaving school SPCS (MJC) at 3/19/2005 04:12:00 pm *** Friday, March 04, 2005 GCE "A" Level results: Meridian JC had at least 98% passes in all subjects. Not bad for first timers. Well done, MJC! Congratulations and keep it up! The percentage of distinctions has not yet been revealed though... leaving school SPCS (MJC) at 3/04/2005 05:07:00 pm *** Wednesday, March 02, 2005 From the TagBoard: Jinx: u guys r reali being too critical abt little things. success comes frm e students too. n we're only 3 years old. looking at our statistics, we're doing v well. plus, judging frm last year's bash, u think students would come for the oc? i think not. most of us don't even wanna come, what more make it meaningful? rui to jinx: and the reason why we dun wish to go for sch events? is a school being successful when the students dun feel homely, and theres no culture at all? i mean, what stats are there to show, we'll soon know, A levels results explain everything Jinx: hey rui, chill. the school has only jus started man. culture, history, results n recognition ain't available on the internet. history? time is needed. Exactly, culture ain't available on the internet, That's what the SC is for - to lead the students in creating a college culture. The success of a college depends on the leadership of its SC too. "Mermaids, Merlions, and the Lai-on's Den" ain't going to help create college culture, whoever came up with it. GCE "A" Level results will be released this Friday. Good luck to our seniors, the pioneer batch of MJC. May you do MJC proud and make a name for the college. Maybe then we'll see MJC in the papers... leaving school SPCS (MJC) at 3/02/2005 09:40:00 pm *** |
